The hotel’s internet was out this morning. They were working on it, and she told me it
was ready as we were going to the train station. So, yesterday’s post and this one will be
done tonight, hopefully if I am still awake after our return. We had a terrific breakfast and will take the
11:50 am train to Nuremberg. The train
ride is an hour and our tickets say we will leave Nuremberg to return to Munich
at 8:27. Nuremberg has Germany’s largest
and most popular Christkindlmarkt, so we are expecting it be crowded.
AND…..Nuremberg was fantastic!! We were able to see the Christkindl give
gifts to the children and we got to take her picture and adults got a
postcard!! The market was too wonderful
to describe and it is late at night and we must get up early to catch the train
to Salzburg.
We did watch a blind children’s choral group sing carols at
the markt, and they were magnificent and I should mention, it started snowing
during their performance.
The whole Christmas markt experience is magical and the
decorations are wonderful. I hope to
post some pictures either now, or perhaps on Friday….but Jim’s video will be
the best description of the markts.
Tomorrow, Salzburg, Austria and Oberndorf where Silent Night
was sung the first time!!
good for you guys !! pretty and snowy to boot
