Tomorrow we head to Venice for the first stop on our Italian holiday. In Greece there was free internet everywhere, even in the smallest of hotels or B&B's. It doesn't seem like it will be so in Italy, but blog will be updated as internet is available. Preferably free internet in the hotels! Also, hope to upload large amounts of photos; if that isn't possible, will put a few here on the blog.
Also hoping that the rainy weather that's been all over Europe will give way to sunny skies. We haven't been back to Venice or Rome since we went digital, so looking forward to great new photos.
This years schedule:
Venice 2 nights
Rome 3 nights
Sorrento 4 nights - with visits to Amalfi Coast, Capri, and Naples
Orvieto 2 nights
Florence 1 night
Monterosso 3 nights
Milano 1 night......
and then, depending on the British Airways cabin crew strike, we will come home or NOT!
PS: there's new Italian music in The Box
What'a blog?

ReplyDeleteMy ISP wasn't working. Was going to email you last night. Look forward to following you on vacation. Keeping you in prayer.
ReplyDeleteIs there jelly on my face? Don't forget to throw a coin in "The Fountain" for me and light a candle somewhere.
Buon Viaggio!!!!

So you leave today---yea! Again, have a wonderful time! Check out the movie "The Blog That Ate Italy." Not as good as the original Japanese version.

BETTER WEATHER. TAKE CARE
NETTA
AND THEY'RE OFF!!!! (no jokes please) Word is Sunshine tomorrow. If not, you'll make your own sunshine! T&S
ReplyDeleteGiving away all that free internet in Greece! It's probably what brought down their economy.
ReplyDeleteThe US dollar is at 1,80 today---getting better for you daily. We'll watch for an update. As I type this you are at Heathrow transfering to Gatwick! Happy landings. Venice awaits later today! T&S
The day was mostly sunny in Belgium. I visualized you two on the vaporetto cruising in sunshine down the Grand Canal to your stop for the hotel where you must be by now at 9 PM CET. It is not totally dark until 10 PM (22h00) this time of year---and if it's dark in Venice---they have lights! I can feel you smiling all the way over here! T&S
ReplyDeleteDunny here. Hope it is there! T&S
ReplyDeleteWe meant SUNNY!
ReplyDeleteSo tomorrow you both head for Roma! Have a good flight and wonderful last evening in Venice. T&S
ReplyDeletenot updated !!! will look again this afternoon. we have some sun...not much so far, went on a long bike ride....may ride horsies this week for a change.
ReplyDeleteat least you got there !!!
Darn. It's sunny in Belgium again. You should have the sun. We don't need it! Glad you arrived in Roma safely and I'm sure you are enjoying whatever the weather. I keep seeing airports closed in Britain and The Netherlands on the news. Hopefully this will all "blow away" literally and figuratively when you need to fly. Got to ask: "Pam, have you ever watched McLeod's Daughters?" Ride on!!! Lucky you! For now---rain, rain go away---Jim and Sandy need to play! SMILE! T&S
ReplyDeleteahhh, you are the friends who live in belgium....i think sandy and jim have a bit of sun now....
ReplyDeletewe are on vacation in hilton head SC for a week....had rain today...but somehow the forecast has changed in our favor.....unheard of.
i live vicariously thru sandy...vacation-wise
We ALL live vicariously through Sandy and Jim's holiday-making! I've eaten atop the Eifel Tower, had a scary ride on a telepherique in Switzerland and sampled tasty meals all thanks to Sandy and Jim. Travel through osmosis. Their "videos" are as good as Rick Steves! Sunny here (in Belgium) and I hope the same is true of Roma AND Hilton Head! Cheers to all! T&S (Tom and Sabine)
ReplyDeleteAlleluia!!!
ReplyDeleteFinalmente!!!
Have been checking every day, a few times a day and just figured something wasn't working right.
Yeaaahhh, the sun is shining and you are having a culinary feast every day. Not to mention the vino.
Just knew you were talking about our old hotel.
So excited to see your pics and check what is going on.
In Venice after you had your Stregga, did you turn to Troy? Oops I mean Jim, and say, " if a bit breathtaking!!!!"
